Well I had some bad luck today. I went to the range with a couple friends today, we carpooled. When we got back to our cars, mine was missing (2001 mustang), and someone attempted to pry the other guy’s window/door open. I had about 600 rounds of shotgun ammo in the car, and maybe 250 rounds of 45 ammo.

Car thieves’ suck. I really hope everyone involved goes to prison.

Get a steering wheel lock. 35.00 and it works.

Unfortunately, my opinion is that car thieves are treated too lightly. We have had two cars stolen within a year from our garage and in front of the house. We live in a very law abiding neighborhood, the thieves are probably from San Jose/East Palo Alto area per police. First car was dusted for prints the second was not. To my knowledge the insurance company (read: policy holders) paid the bill, not the BG.

Had a car stolen a few years back. Police wouldn't go after them. Worthless, absolutely worthless.

My current car was KIA over the weekend. All that's in it is 2 cases of Trident:rolleyes:

Poe-999--My sympathies on yr towing. Be glad it wasn't stolen. Have yr car insurance paid up--AND yr homeowners/renters, which covers the contents of the car, so you get to fight with not one but 2 different insurers.

Had a car stolen last summer. Lost car and contents, including 3 guns. IMHO, I was minorly screwed by the auto insurer--Travelers, and majorly screwed by the homeowners insurer--State Farm.

Reccommend that all parties stay away from both what I consider to be sets of thieves.

Any casino in Las Vegas would love to be in the insurance racket--First they take yr money, then they set the odds in their favor, then they get to say whether or not they will pay you if you do "win." Such a deal. :banghead:

I had a car stolen a while back. I knew who was most likely to have dunnit, but the police had bigger fish to fry.

As an aside: When I was being screened for jury service in a child abuse case here in Phoenix, one of the questions the judge asked of the assembled crowd of prospective jurors was, "have you had a car stolen?" Many cards (paddles with our juror numbers on them) went up. "Did the police come?" Only a few paddles remained up. I believe the testimony of police officers was going to be pivotal; no doubt they wanted to find who might be sore at the police.

Poe,

Was there a garage door opener in your car when it got stolen? If so I hope you've taken appropriate measures to make sure they don't come to your house and use it.

I never leave an opener in the vehicle nor do I ever program the ones that are built into the vehicle.

edit:
I missed the towed post.

you know.. honestly.. IF i were a car jacker.. stealing a car at the gun range would be the LAST place to go.

how do you know the car you're trying to break into belongs to a 7 foot 400 lb body builder thats releasing his anger out by knocking a couple mags off with his .50AE Desert Eagle..

actually, i would loe to see that.

I really hope everyone involved goes to prison.

You can hope. In the unlikely event the criminals are caught, they'll most probably have their terms of probation extended.

It would never be legal in the US but this old story of the South African Blaster would be an incredible deterrent if rigged up to a car alarm instead of just using it for Car Jackings.

It's reported by the inventor to only blind the assailant, not kill them:evil:
