I've spent the last 10-15 minutes watching GIs and Iraqi civilians attach ropes and then chains to a statue of Saddam in the center of Baghdad. They used an M88 recovery vehicle with Iraqis and journalists crawling all over it to pull it down and it just did not want to fall. It finally fell over but was still attached to the giant pedestal. People were throwing rocks and boxes and their shoes at it and when if finally came all the way down, they went nuts. They're still jumping on it slapping it with hands and shoes. Very, very cool stuff.

It was on here too.

We homeschool the kids. All other activity was suspended while we watched the live history lesson.

I saw some of that video, but the usual suspect "I can't login...forgot my password" called, and I had to leave my 'puter for a few minutes. Did see a really big burly guy pull off his shirt and start whacking the base with a sledge. By the time I got back, the statue was face down.

Hope to see it again at home tonight.
