The moral of today's story is: examine every round of ammunition by sight and feel before loading into a magazine.

This is from a box of factory-new UMC .45ACP (FMJ, 250-round value pack).

Sounds like you just hit the jackpot of litigation.

Let us know what you buy with the settlement check.

I have a collection of bad factory rounds from years of being an LE instructor. I wound up with a "few" .38 Spl w/c and .357 rounds that were obviously bad out of the box. Primers sidewise, upside down, and missing; crushed case mouths and reversed bullets being the most common. Don't remember any bad 9mm or .45 ACP rounds--but one of the reasons those rounds cost more is for more quality control.

Don't remember any flat failures to fire or hangfires, though.

My q/c on handloads is actually better, but then I use a single stage press and take my time, too.

It does pay to check every round for serious use; and yes, I still utilize factory ammo for any CCW duty.

I have an A-Merc 9mm that is almost the same. They never responded to my complaint. I was hoping to get a box or two of ammo in compensation. You can't sue them for getting a bad round. Now, if you load it and injure yourself...
