First dibs on a bronze Saddam statute. I couldn't get a Dzersinski (founder of Cheka) one for the pigeons here in the Bay Area. Pigeons have rights too.

That was a great bit of film, wasn't it?

I think that 88 crew will have to write off the chain they used as a field loss. I don't see them ever getting that thing back.

i watched for about an hour and a half as the iraqis tried to toppled the statue with a rope and a sledgehammer (there was a hufge dude down there taking somw swings) and then our boys brought in a tank retriever and yanked the turd down
so great to see how happy the people were.....it started out with only a couple dozen and as time went on the crowd multiplied.....i went to the Democratic Undergroud (i know this is treason, i read it for the insane logic, check the theme of conversation there):
"its staged'!
"Well, theres only 70 {there was more than 70} of them, what about the other 5 million people in bagdad?"
"When they put that American flag on it {which incidentally made the assembled crowd cheer jubulantly} the made another 100 osamas"!
"look, peter arnett!'
"Well, the war isnt over yet...whine whine.....gas prices.....unintelligble liberalspeak"
These are the same people more inclined to listen to the iraqi DISinformation minister......
incredible day.....and some people cant appreciate it because they are mad that it is happening because it means they were wrong
oh well....im proud of our troops over there

It just breaks my heart to watch these poor souls being manipulated and dominated by our Colonial Legions. How dare we impose such things upon them?

Rise up, my Iraqi brothers, and call with one voice for the return of your duly elected leadership! Throw off the chains of the American oppressors!
:uhoh:

Uh. . . . guys?

I watched the statue falling this morning with my wife. We noticed in particular that one Iraqi man at the corner of the screen hugged a U.S. soldier and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Imperialism? I think not!

Had the TV on at work this morning, quite a crowd gathered to watch the finale.
Wonder how long it will be before the statue head shows up on ebay?? :D

God bless America and her fine soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines. God bless the Iraqi people and help us build them a free and prosperous nation.

Geez, man, don't be so impatient, they'll be plenty of time for that later:)

we did them a great justice, and paid for it in blood. God bless all our service persons. Now just remember us when you guys organize your oil businesses. Seriously, we help you, you help us. Screw every other nation. Let the stupid French pay $4 a gallon while we pay ooooh I dunno under a buck? That would totally own.
