My modeling debut has hit the newsstand!

Back in November, Oleg Volk asked me to do some modeling for him. He had been hired by Mesa Tactical to do some photographs of their products, both stationary and in use. Oleg needed a model who could effectively portray the mil/LEO look, so he called me, due to my 8 yeas as an active duty soldier.

The photo session was a lot of fun. In return for helping him out, Oleg paid me by giving me a couple Mesa Tactical stock adapters. I can honestly say that they are quite well made and I'd recommend that anyone interested in an AR-style stock adapter for their shotgun give them a look.

Anyways, if you look at page 47 of the February issue of SWAT, you'll see an ad for Mesa Tactical in the lower-right corner. In the upper-right corner of the ad, you'll see me, dressed in BDU's and wielding an 870P. I'd post a pic, but I don't own a scanner.

Pretty cool! Congrats! I'll have to make sure and look for it. Since you are now in the modeling industry... can you please get me Marisa Miller's phone number?? :D

Since you're, like, a famous super-gun-model, can I, like, have your autograph? :D :neener:

Would doing an ad for Blackhawk *tactical* be a step up or a step down in the world of tactical modeling?

I'd probably be arrested for stalking. (If I knew who she was, that is.)

Yeah, but can you do Calvin Klein?
Dude, the LAST thing you want to see is me in my skivvies. Trust me.

Sure, and with it and $1, you can get an order of fries at McDonald's.

Well, Mesa Tactical is AMERICAN made, whereas BHI isn't. You be the judge. Besides, BHI isn't anywhere near as cool as the Tactical Tailor gear that I'm wearing in the photo.

^5, OEF_VET!
No applause, just throw money! I'll be here all week. Try the veal and be sure to tip your waitress.

In the meantime, I am working on something for Randy Hengl, maker of custom rifles. This isn't the final version but close.

<Wipes an eye> Oh, the memories of countless hours spent on photo shoots getting the product just right (long before digital showed up). Then the memories of tens of hours haggling over copy. <Wipes the other eye>

There there was the modeling I did. I was hired to look like a common executive--blue blazer, grey slacks, grey hair. Anyway I learned how models look so good in their clothing. My blazer fit like a glove. . . .only because of a sack full of clothes pins and binder clips used to pull everything together. I wish I had a picture of the backside of the pose.

Ahh memories! <Wipes both eyes and blows nose>

Frank is an amazingly photogenic model. Not sure how he does it, given that he can pass for a Neanderthal in real life if the light is right :D

Is that the 2-piece MAV you're wearing? Hard to tell form here.

Yeah, that's the 2-piece. It's set up with an X-Harness, Hydration Carrier, and 2 3-mag panels (1 per side). The right side, as I'm wearing it, has an AK mag pouch all the way to the rear (for carrying my cleaning kit and a few other items), and three 6-round shotgun panels over the mag panel. The left side has a multi-purpose pouch to the far rear, and working towards the front, on top of the mag panel are a single mag shingle and a triple pistol mag pouch. I'm still in the process of figuring out what configuration works best for me, so it's a work in progress.

My first-line is a TT belt with two small modular leg panels. My strong side has a TT modular holster for a 1911 and a TAG ASP pouch. My support side has a TT modular dump pouch and a double pistol mag pouch on it. Again, this is also a work in progress.

Here's a slightly better view of my second-line:

Sweet, I have that same 2-piece coming in also with the X harness but I also got the modular front panel that goes in front of the buckles for another attachment point. TT gear is hard to beat.

Sorry to bring the thread off-track a little, good pics man, and great choice in gear. :D

Good work to you and Oleg.

Isn't it hard to stuff those big green bullets into that little black rifle? :neener:

I just ordered one of the center-piece adapters. The Big Brown Truck is supposedly dropping it, and some othr TT gear, off sometime Wednesday. And I agree, TT is hard to beat. I think I've given Logan Coffey somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000 of my hard earned ducets.

Chris, if I manage to stuff one in there, are you willing to pull the trigger? 'Cuz, if you are, I'm willing to try. :uhoh: :what:

Brown comes to me tomorrow with the order I just placed. I couldn't resist the 40% off all woodland items. I got the 2-piece MAV body, X-Harness, enough pouches to fill it to the brim and a 3-day pack and saved about $80.00. The total for the pack and the vest + accessories was $198.00, which is an insane value considering the price of similar gear from their copetitors and the quality.

I'll offer to sell the tickets and bring the beer if he bites!

That depends on who's asking for it, how cute she is, and where she wants the autograph.
