Here's one I will be interested if anybody knows...where is a good place to buy paint for a handgun. What type of paint do I need to use? I have all the other things for the finishing(due to where I work) just need to know the type and place to buy the paint. Thanks

But - if you are refinishing, you will need to blast with Al Oxide and spray with an airbrush. You can buy a cheap airbrish at harbor frieght for $5, but most folks use a real quality one. I ended up spending about $175 (airbrush, canned air, acetone, Gun Kote, KPhos, professional blasting, etc.) to do TWO guns. You can get one done for that (with shipping) by a pro. You must know how to detail strip and reassemble your weapon. It is a big project. These always take more time than you figured, but you learn MUCH, and the product is good.

Or you can search for Duracoat which has cheap kits and claims not to need baking. I have seen people on this site who only degreased and sprayed - I'd love to know how it lasted.

I painted the stainless on my Remington 700 several years ago with Aluma-hyde from Brownell's because when hunting early in the morning the barrell glowed like a flourescent light and that hasn't worn, or scratched yet. I also painted the slide with it on my Pro-Carry. The edges are showing a little holster wear from using a kydex holster in IDPA, but, I don't think it is wearing any more than any of my blued pistols.
