What ear protection do our servicemen (the ones who kock in doors and clear rooms, for instance) use?

It seems like for that kind of work, it'd be imperative that you not give up being able to hear...but that you'd have to use some sort of ear protection to avoid permanent hearing loss from all manner of things going 'bang' in closed rooms.

Whatever it is, I'd like to get some...where do you get them?

They cost arounf $8, iirc.

They work quite well, but seems like a lot of people get confused and use them backwards, i.e. yellow-side in for sustained noise, which is useless.

Buy them HERE (http://botac.com/aearcomarear.html).

Geez, I wonder how well they really work. I know I'm practically deaf
in my right ear from being former mechanized infantry.
