I posted a more general thread a couple days ago and got no response. What is the status of legal gun ownership in PR?

Do a search in THR. I posted a similar question a couple months ago and was given a link. PR is REAL BAD on guns. Basically forget it.

Packing.org has a section for them. They suck badly. Think NYC but with less puerto ricans.

That sucks. I was considering spending 10 weeks there this summer. Is the political climate otherwise ok, hard to stay out of trouble etc?

Plus, I'm not finding much about knives on packing.org

San Juan is like any other American city, people speak Spanish and English equally well. Beautiful touristy areas with a seedy underside that most tourists never see away from the resorts. I like it, but much prefer the Puerto Rican countryside. If you like watersports (surfing, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, fishing, jet skiing) the west side of the island is paradise on earth. 80* water, no crowds...

Really it's just like any other place in the US...just better weather, better beaches, and lots of hot Latina girls.
