Madera County California CCW Permit?

Anyone here have a CCW permit issued by the Madera County Sheriff's Department? If so, I would love to ask:

1) Are they gun-rights friendly? Is it a "shall-issue" mindset there?

2) What kind of justification is needed? Do you have to state that you've received death threats or that you carry large amounts of cash, or will "self-defense" suffice?

I appreciate any information you might have.

Thanks

The thing to do if nobody seems to know (and I for one don't) is to check with local gun shops. They'll have some clues.

You can forget Riverside. You'll have a much better chance with San Bernardino.

Don't know about Madera, but I grew up in Merced County just down the road and the Sheriff was actually pretty good about issuing permits.
