i have been thinking all winter of what i want to do during the winter months (since i own my own seasonal business during the spring - winter months) i have thought about putting an ad in the paper offering to buy guns and estate gun collections. wondering if anyone in new york has any experience with this and what i need to do. i was thinking about purchasing these firearms far below market value (which is easy to do, especially in estate sales) and then selling them retail, and whosale to buyers and gunshops. any thoughts or advise on this? i have the cash to invest. do i need an FFL and if i do how much and how hard is it to get?

thanks,:)

If you plan on selling guns to make profit you will need an FFL. Otherwise I think the charge is "dealing in firearms w/o a license" or something like that.

I'm not sure how hard it is in your state/county/city/neighborhood, but on the Federal level you just have to fill out an application, pay $200, and pass an initial inspection (to pass the inspection you'll have to have a way to safely store the firearms.) You also have to grant the ATF permision to check your inventory and paperwork whenever they feel like it.

I'm sure I'm missing a couple things, but I thnk that's most of it.

On all those other levels you may run into problems. For example, I had to have my neighborhood homeowner's association sign off before the ATF would grant a license.

Pahacki the RINO is likely to sign off on a new law that will require dealers to have a a million $ insurance. That will put most NYS gun dealer out of business. :cuss:
