How big is the CHL window in Texas?!?

Okay, I'll preface this by admitting that I'm a bad, lazy boy.

I went to my CHL class in August, and made it with flying colours. However, one thing after another happened, family troubles, no money, blah, blah, blah, and I'm just now getting around to sending in the packet.

In January.

I know...but what I'm wondering is this: I remember them mentioning a finite window for getting that app in, but I can't remember whether it was six months or a year.

Does anyone know for sure? While I'd hate to just kiss my $80 goodbye, I dang sure don't want to chase it with ANOTHER $140 (non-refundable app fee)!!

Thanks in advance for the info!!

Just send it in to Austin you will be fine.

I received my TX CHL 3 days ago! I am a major procrastinator. I sent in the paperwork to Austin in December 2005. I took the class in February 2004. I think it used to be within six months from your class certificaion, but now it is 2 years. As I read the rules your picture is supposed to be less than six months old but I did not worry about that I just sent it in.

Thanks to all for your input on this board, I have learned a lot and I have for the most part avoided the holster drawer. I am now carrying my Kimber TLE, in my Milt Sparks Watch 6, on a Wilderness Belt. I think I will go to the range this afternoon.
