BHP thumb safety question

Hallo. When I engage the safety of my mk.III and press the trigger I can see the sear moving up aprox. 0,1 mm. It is a new gun with stock safety. So far - no hammer follow or any other problem. So, my question is - should I start to worry and replace the safety, or there is no problem at all?
Thank you in advance
Boris

Mizar, That is not the ideal situation, but that little bit of movement is not uncommon to the BHP. If you have the MKIII with the firing pin safety, even if the hammer falls, the pistol won't fire. I'd call your symptoms acceptable, but fitting a new safety would eliminate all movement.

For the non-metric folks, that is about the thickness of a sheet of paper. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you get sear reset when you release the trigger.

Thank you for the replies. Now I have another problem - hammer follow!!! :cuss: :banghead: When I rack the slide on a empty chamber sometimes it happens!! The other problem is that the sear won't reset after releasing the trigger.... It's a NIB gun, made in 1997 and I fired only 150 rounds... Think that I must see the doctor. Thank you again.
