Yeah, I've seen these videos before. They seem like some pretty good guys.

Here's their site: http://www.accuratereloading.com/

These arabs are the good guys, and big time hunters.

I ain't gonna make fun of the guy; he had the huevos to touch off a .577 Tyrannosaur, which lord knows I wouldn't do on a bet.

I took all the t-rex videos they have (and a couple of .460wby mag ones) and made a music video outta it...lots of falling down to da beat :what:

Isn't that the same place where the other fellow who was attempting to shoot offhand got thrown onto the floor? Must be the water.

As I have posted on several other threads, the physics behind the recoil of the full charge .577 loads are humbling. Recoil is nearly 180 ft/lbs or over 4 times that of very strong 375 H&H Magnum loads.

It is the equilavent of having a 16 lb bowling ball dropped on your shoulder from 30 ft.

Till I shoot one, I ain't makin fun of how anybody looks when shooting it.

I'll shoot it if someone buys it for me!

why on earth would someone want to shoot that? :uhoh: from the looks of it if you were to take a shot from a prone position it would push you back a few feet. talk about slow follow-up shots!!:p

why on earth would someone want to shoot that? As the name suggests, it is made for hunting dinosaurs.

To some guys, the .308 is punishing. Others think the 300 Win Mag is too much. The super heavy Garrett 45-70 loads are too much. The Remington Slugger 12 Gauge slugs at 1,800 fps are harsh. Then you get to the 460 Weatherby class. On top of that, is this .577.

Some folks don't like recoil, some folks do. I've looked through all the videos and most folks are quite taken with the first and presumably only shot. One guy takes three and seems relatively happy.

I'd gladly take the rifle in a giveaway. I'd take a couple shots if someone else were paying for the ammo. I'd probably take a couple of shots before taking those shots. ;) But I can't imagine paying money for something I couldn't put at least 10 rounds through at one sitting.

Those videos prove that there are three kinds of people:

Those that learn by reading about something.
Those that learn by watching others.:D
Those that just have to pee on the wire.:banghead:

How about Free Recoil shooting w/ something like that?

Two questions... where and how much. :D

My shoulder hasn't been acting up like it should and there are a few sattellites in orbit that need knocking down. Not to mention, living in the city, a blue whale attacking my house is a major concern for me. I feel I need the firepower to take one or two out with a single shot.

All joking aside, do they sell them? or is it a prototype not for the general public or something.

Then you get to the 460 Weatherby class. On top of that, is this .577. And if you survive that, there's always the 700 Nitro Express. I don't even wanna think about that.

Wouldn't .577 be a "destructive device" to the JBTs?

If you wander around the site a bit more you will find some ballistics data for the .577.

It helps to understand the videos--the .577 is close to being the ballistic equivalent of the 50BMG. And they're firing it from a relatively normal weight rifle with no muzzle brake...

Why? So you can invite your buddies over and film them as they attempt to prove their manliness.

Anyone got the bullet weight/velocity stats on .577 Tyro?

Cratz2: you're not accounting for acceleration, man. g is 9.80665 meters per second per second, which shortens the height that bowling ball is dropped from, considerably.

More like 3 feet, or less.

Between the gun getting dropped all the time, and the recoil, I wonder how long they last?

Anyone else notice the "lock-up" time
on the "klaus and the .700 NE?

Sheesh!

Hammer falls, and you get to wait for it!
I've seen flintlocks fire faster.

That guy is something. No flinching, and
it seemed like he really knows what is
comming.

Hey! I want one of those on a T/C Contender!!!! Sorry, but you'll have to wait for the Encore version. I'm afraid the venerable Contender simply won't handle the pressure. Encore version coming soon................Thompson Center Arms :D
