Does any body have any links or true field data where I might read up on the most accurate .20 cal cartridge? I'm interested in building a shooter and it could be a wildcat or a factory caliber, whatever, as long as it has proven capable of one holers at 200 yards...what's the best known today guys?
:)

Welcome to THR. Glad to have you here.
When you say .20 caliber, do you mean .20 and greater? .22PPC or 6PPC would be my votes if you do mean that.:)

Here's a site all about the .20's

Personally I don't have any experience with any of them but I think they are very interesting in their own right.

pazsint,
Sorry I can't help with your question. I know of only 2 .20's and I have no experience with either. I do have a question for you though, you ever read about predator hunting on the internet?:D Your post is very similar to one on another forum I visit, apparently the person collects coins. just a little curious. If you not the same person I guess I look a little nuts, but (sheepish voice on) I can prove it (sheepish voice off).

The only 2 I'm familiar with are the .20 Tactical (.223 necked down to .20) and the .204 Ruger.
Everyone I have spoken with, who owns a .204 Ruger, speaks very highly of it.
I haven't spoken directly with anyone who owns a .20 Tactical.
Must admit, I'm getting the jones for a .204 Ruger...

I'd say the Sheridan Silver Streak.

I've decided to build my 20 cal gun based on the 6mmNorma BR round, or a 20BR. I have a short action Rem 700 BDL to use for it. Am now finalizing a barrel to buy. I want it to be a 26" medium heavy sporter weight in stainless. I will need it to be chambered, contoured, crowned and threaded for the 700 action. I have about $400...so, Question now is whose barrel do I buy, and should I have them chamber it, or have a local smith do the work, or who? Any input on the most likely accurate maker would help me ..Thanks!

the 20 SMc, is a new roudn it is the fastest cartridge ever, by a long shot. standard velocity for a 32 grn bullet is 4700fps at the muzzle, yet it has better b.c. and s.d. than a 22.250 with a 40 grn bullet. it also uses 30% less powder, and greatly extends bbl life. you may wanna consider the 19 calhouns or the 19 badger.

I only know one factory load for a .20 caliber cartridge...the 204 Ruger and it is one great cartride in my 1B.
