Hey all,

I have a Saiga 12 but the magazine seems to be a little loose. It can tilt back and forth a little.... is this a problem? I think it will still feed ok, but it is a little annoying. Any ideas how to fix it?

That's a unique problem. I had the exact oppostite happen, I got a couple of 8 rounders that required some attention before they would lock into the gun.

Have you fired it yet? If it feeds reliably, then I wouldn't worry about it.

If it doesn't however, you may need to either return the mag or see if you can have the locking notches built up.

Haven't fired it yet.... I was going to actually get it worked on soon by Tromix..

You might want to mention that to Tromix, they may have a good solution.

Right now I am just trying to dig up the money to send it away. I have WAY to many other projects going on right this minute.

Hi

I also have a Saiga12 and tried to see how it could be as you described it.

However after seeing that when the magazine has been rocked into place, the front and rear tabs are applied downward pressure by the magazine spring pushing up on the bolt. Trying it with an empty magazine had the fit quite tight as it is.

If you still have movement back & forth from a seated magazine, you might try looking whether the front or the back tab of the magazine is not engaging properly.

I am pretty sure that the back tab on the Mag itself is chipped. After look at what it is actually doing it seems like it isn't fully catching on the catch which is allowing it to rock back and forth a little. It doesn't seem to affect feeding though I will be replacing the mag and having tromix look at it when I finally get around to sending it to him to convert.

You might want to ask him if they already have the magwell mod for the Saiga12 while your at it. As I understand it, it would require some mods on the magazine as well.

Newer version of Saiga12s Exp-30.01 have a magwell like on a AR15. For easier mag insertion.

Ah... gotcha. Mine is just normal. I think I'll just send him the whole thing and have him look at it.
