Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm reassembling my Winchester 1897 after a complete disassembly for a real nice hot blue job and there's only one hang up - and it has to do with the mag tube and the part called the "action slide spring" which looks like a diag. split, flat metal band which slides onto the mag tube somewhere.

I've seen the schematics but they really (at least to me) don't show where the part "Action slide spring" fits on the magazine tube. Is it above or below the middle band on the 1897 mag. tube?
