Hi all.
After experimenting with a number of factory loads as well as surplus ammo, I have to conclude that my K98k is shooting high. By a lot, about 11''. At one hundered yards it groups quite well, but about a foot high. With heavier loads like the S&B 180 grainers is hits at about 8" high. I am not the greatest rifle shot but you would think that I really can't screw up that bad from sandbags on a bench. The rear sight is set to its lowest setting (100m) but I did notice that there is small gap between the sight blade and the mount, a reall small one which I assume is normal and it seems to due to the fact that the riser touches the curved slope.
I doubt that it is me or the sights. I wonder if there are any common problems which may causes this. Maybe the receiver screws are two tight? Front stock band out of wack? Maybe my barrel is just bent.
And of course both my Turks shoot low. :banghead:
Any advice would be appreciated.
