Having a debate with a friend (Otomik) and we want some clarification.

In the scene where she is skating across the ice shooting the car. She's using a handgun. What is it.

I say:
It's a Sig P220ST.

Otomik says:
The Sig P220ST did not exist when the movie was made in 1996. Instead it's an silver alloy frame P226 with a nickel slide and nickel controls.

Here is a link to a picture of the scene: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/pigasuspress/photos/geena-lkg2.jpg

Please help us decide this debate.

PS: Anyone know the first year of the P220ST?

Thanks in advance.

The 220ST wasn't even around back then. I think it came out in '01 or '02 but that's just a guess.

Then what is it? weird aftermarket finished 226 like otomik thinks? I highly doubt it.

It's definitely a 220. Look at the size of the bore and the angle of the grip. Did the 220 come in an alloy frame with silver slide? The two-tone model has a silver slide.... I don't think it was nickel. So where did this all silver 220 come from?

looking at the picture I'm pretty sure I see a slightly more steep angle of the dustcover and an angled cut on the frame between the decock lever and the dissasembly latch that indicates the doublestack magwell of a P226. The front of the slide also seems to have the P226's more rounded edge (some people say the P220 has a lot of sharp edges).

It'd probably be too hard to deduct from just this photograph.

Or it could have been a P220 that had been fully nickled. I seem to remember seeing some years ago. But I agree that the P220ST had not come out when that movie was made. The first stainless Sig I remember was a P229 Sport with this ugly snot looking compensator on the front.

Sorry, I can't help with the gun debate, but this is one of my very favorite movies. It has some of the funniest lines ever in a movie.

"What, now you're a sharp shooter?"

"Chefs do that."

"When I first met you, you were like 'Oh, fooey, I burned the darn muffins.' Now, you go into a bar, five minutes later sailors come running out. What up with that?"

Looking at the picture, I'm going to guess: Sig 226, after-market finish, with some type of compensator which makes the bore size look larger. The reason I'm guessing 226 is I think I can see the little ledge behind the take-down lever where the frame size expands to allow for the double-stacked magazine.

He's 6 foot 135lbs of vegetarian fury. I'm 5'11" 205lbs of muscle and beer with combat training. There is no competition here.

Anyway, this is what I thought it was: http://w3.jura.ch/slc/images/P220.jpg

P220, all silver. This particular model is a 9mm.

Isn't that the movie, produced in 1996 or so, where the Government attempts to stage a mass murder and uses the corpse of an arab to blame "outside parties" to help increase their funding ?

Sorry if i ruined the plot for some of you..

Don't get too overconfident Vex, he may know Corn-Fu.

Besides, even if it is a total beat-down, it would prove to be amusing.
