Unfortunately, it will never be available for Civilian use unless the current federal laws are thrown out. Even in a semi-auto form it will be/is classified as a Destructive Device. Lame rules = no fun for us civies :(

how long has this thing been around??

the video was making the rounds when i joined THR, and i believe i'd seen it prior to that.

in that time there has been little to no real, interest in this weapons system by the military or police. as Oleg states it's a heavy awkward weapon, and frankly for the use(s) listed on the linked website (ie room clearing) a short 870, Mossy 590, or similar would do just as well and not have near as much chance of an out of battery discharge (watch video and look for the flash in the ejection port).
