Well I did what everyone always says to do because im new and I didnt want to get yelled at. I searched the threads using search and the question I need answered I really didnt find.

1. Have you yourself tried to use the duracoat finish?

2. Did you use 1 color or there camo-packs if you used camo-pack was it difficult?

3. Would you use it again or just send it out to a professional?

4. If you did it yourself and have pictures please post.

As you can tell I am contemplating buying the Duracoat and trying myself or just sending it to a professional so I dont screw it up....Thank you for any and all info you can provide me.

I duracoated some old beat up HK 93 mags a while back and it came out great. They look new now so I would definitely do it again.

Some friends and I have used duracoat with success, but we didn't use the stencils. Duracoat is easy to apply without finish defects and seems durable so far.

Yes, we used various types of netting to do that.

I have no clue as to what you're putting the duracoat on. Isn't it for truck beds?

Sherwin Williams Polane-T is very similar to DuraCoat, and you can probably get it in bulk locally cheaper than you can get DuraCoat.

Not DuraCoat, but something similar in application procedure.......

I have done quite a bit of research on DuraCoat refinishing and the common thread to a successful job seems to be the surface prep you do beforehand. The worse shape your original finish is in, the more prep work you will have to do.

I'm going to be refinishing two Springfield XD's sometime this year and will probably go with DuraCoat.

Not strange at all. 80 guys wanted to find out if it was easy to duracoat all their firearms. That's what I came for.
