What's the softest recoiling slug ammo in the market?

My local outdoor range won't let me use shots on the range, slugs only. But I want to get familiarize/practice w/ my shotgun w/o taking much of a beating. Does anyone know a brand of ammo in particular that offers less recoil? Thanks in advance!

' guess I'll just have to take the punishment. Okay then, which brand has the best price? Thanks in advance!

fwiw, I think it's subjective but...Federal's reduced recoil slug seems fairly mild.
There's a lot more to dealing with "recoil" than the load one uses.

The 1 oz and some sabot loads are less punishing than the big Brennekes, but no slug is kick free.
There's probably a Trap,SC or Skeet range within an hour's drive from your house, I suggest finding it and practicing there.
HTH....

' got some Federal sabots and some water filled milk jugs. :) I'll go to the range tomorrow for some fun shoot! Thanks again for all the input!

FWIW, Remington makes some reduced recoil slug loads as well. If you're just using them for practice, they should be OK, but I found when doing some sight-in work for deer hunting and longer ranges, they REALLY drop further than standard load slugs, so keep that in mind
