The Local NBC station reported that New Mexico gets an "F" rating from the Brady mob! How do we earn an "F minus"? Perhaps a "Z minus"? :neener:

I'd imagine it was the no-permit open carry, no-permit car carry, instant buys w/o permit, and now the concealed carry thing (admittedly with high fees, annoying testing requirements and restrictions) - including the new 23-state reciprocity.
About damned time. :)

Belt fed automatic grenade launchers are legal in this state.
So long as they are transferrable, you pay the tax, and have the appropriate paperwork.
Paying that $200 tax per round might not be fun, though...;)
About time we received the appropriate rating, not many places you can do what you want in your vehicle.:D

I think they still frown on steamed up windows in public places.
So save the fondling of your MK-19 for the garage.

That's odd. The Brady site only has statistics through 2004. New Mexico earned an "F" for that year. Wonder where NBC got the report? Or perhaps they are just rehashing old news.

The only time that I was proud of receiving an "F". Maybe we can keep it from moving up to a passing mark.

We not only allow citizens to own DD's and MG's, we have the space to use them.
Carebear,
if the windows are steamed, nothing inside would be visible, therefore allowable:D

Darn! Texas only got a "D-"! That sucks!

Maybe if we can get the alcohol provisions changed more in line with TX and FL we can get an F--. Don't know when that will be addressed in the legislature.
Anyone have any idea?

I saw that too but a "D" is only one letter grade away from an "F." I'm surprised we are all still alive because of the horrible things that the Brady group says, "Gun violence in Texas could increase in 2005 because Congress failed to renew the federal assault weapon ban, which
expired last fall, and Texas has no state law restricting assault weapons or rapid fire ammunition magazines."
Now prepare yourselves, this just screams we're all gonna die: "...Texas also even forces police to let people carry hidden handguns in public."
OMG, EVERYBODY RUN!!!:what: :what:

This will be a big help to Bill Richardson in the 2008 Democratic Primary.

Sweet, glad to hear of NM's "passing" grade! Hopefully CO has an equally low and proud rating.
Congrats. If only we could get Maryland to flunk that test.:D
That will never happen as long as the population keeps electing the same anti-gun crowd to Annaoplis to keep taking your rights away. That's why I love VA and CO: I can carry anywhere I want that's not prohibited by law or private owner's discretion.

Not this year, Jerry. 30-day sessions are for money issues and whatever the gov puts on the call, and that ain't on there.

We in Texas salute our fine neighbor to the west, and pray that our legislature will do better in the future.
That said, last year was a nice year for Texas: No permit now required for car-carry of pistols, CHL durations lengthened before renewal, and CHL's allowed for a broader group of people.
Now if we could just get the cost of those things down!
