I could not help thinking, while reading a thread about Ruger revolvers, how nice it would be to see everybodies Security Six pics:p . I have a very nice (new in the box when bought/only 50 rounds shot:neener: ) 4inch stainless Security Six but I can't post pics at this time. Service Six pics are welcome as well. Also if anybody knows where a could get a 2inch Security or Service Six (.357 or .38) please drop me a note.:D

DANG! You have a 2 3/4" Speed Six and a 2 3/4" Service Six and both in SS! Lucky! I had a Speedsix in 9mm and SS with the 2 3/4" bbl but like the idiot I am, I sold it! I would like to find one in .357 mag and it wouldn't have to be the Speed Six, I could go for the Service Six if I found one.
I have a 4" SS Speed Six that I want to keep but my friend keeps trying to buy it off me. I have lots of other guns but he wants that one only for some reason. I keep trying to push him into the GP-100 because I can replace that but he wants what he wants. He is starting to actually bug me.
If I saw a 2 3/4" SS Speed Six at the next gunshow, I would plunk down the cash if it was not a bad price. Those Speed Sixes are more than the sum of their parts if you know what I mean. They should just be good simple and rugged fixed sight revolvers like the S&Ws but are something more. I can't put my finger on it but they have something.
Sorry but I have less love for the Security Six. I respect it but I don't miss trading my 4" SS Security Six. It is kind of ugly compared to the Speed and Service Six. I wouldn't kick one out of bed but I would go out of my way to obtain one either.

Slick6, Where did you get the grip on the 4inch Security Six (on left side of bottum pic). I like it and would love to have the same for mine.

kahr404life:
1)Thanks for your compliment regarding my "Sixes"!
2)The grips on the Security-Six on the left side, came directly from the Ruger factory-As I ordered these from them a few years ago! You might run across some of these grips at gun shows? Or, you could contact Ruger Customer Service to inquire about any older "Six Series"(151 and up, serial number prefix)smooth target grips?

1)I like all of the "Six Series" revolvers! These are all the same-except for the adjustable sights on the Security-Six and for the round-butt, on the Speed-Six-and for barrel lengths(And, for other odd-ball(Rare)combinations or on special "Contract" guns!)!
2)I think all of the short barrel "Six-Series" revolvers are special!
3)Did you notice that my Speed-Six has a unique heavier 2.75" barrel than comes standard on these revolvers? There were also a few of these Speed-Sixes/Service-Sixes/Security-Sixes, that also were made(Towards the end of "Six-Series" revolver production)with an heavy 3-inch barrel!
4)It looks like your friend has a keen eye for recognizing just how sweeet, these short barrel revolvers really are! I like the GP-100 also-but, I love the "Six-Series" the most! I hope that the world will stay "Blind" to just how neat all of these classic, "Six-Series" revolvers actually are(For awhile longer-to give me enough time to buy many more-at a good price!)! :neener:
