Hi folks,
Of all the exotic gunleather wears around such as shark, aligator, snake, ostrich, elephant etc, I have handled two personally i.e. shark and ostrich. While they look and feel real, I wonder if they are in actualityt real. Could they be synthesized "exotic" leather? Or they are part exotic part other material? Could it be that some manufacturers have genuinely exotic leathers while others are a mix of real and synthesized leather? What is your experience and what do you think?

I don't thing any quality manufacture is out there cheating anybody. They wouldn't last long in the buisness if they were. Some do have the exotic leather bonded to horse or cow. For example I don't think stingray would stand up on its own. The leather is bonded to cow leather to form the holster. It is only there for estheitics, like all of the exotics.

Hmmm in theory I guess they could do the Hong Kong Rolex and shark fin ploy, but me thinks their reputation is on the line way too much to try any funny bidness, besides most are stand-up folks like Sparks, Rafter S, etc. and I have it on faith they'll treat me right.

FWIW, I have a pair of Rafter S. Elephant-skin belts on the way. When they arrive I'll post some pics.
