ICE Chopper downed on Mex. border

Fox news is reporting that a ICE chopper was attacked and downed today in the El Centro area of PRK. Rocks and bottles were thrown at it.
Rocks and bottles thrown at the main rotor caused it to go down....
Something stinks here... I would hope that our choppers rotors can withstand rocks and bottles....
Edit:
David Aguilar US BP Chief says the mexicans have a new tactic as well. When they throw rocks, they wrap them in cloth, dunk them in gasoline, light them, then throw them at our people....

And how low would you have to be to get hit repeatedly with rocks and bottles?
You're right, something sounds fishy.
Edit: Ahhh, flaming rocks and bottles... THAT might work better..:fire:

something is most certainly rotten in the PRk...

Let the truth come out and...let's dance. Everyone take note of the sites in my sig, if you would, and use them to send free faxes to your local pols.
If we make enough noise now, while we can still exploit situations such as this, we might be able to put Jorge Bush's guest worker plan in the feces can.
Let's walk the walk...

50 BMG rounds are bottle shaped, and we know the mexican government has been having a sale on those lately. Unless those really were mexican govt soldiers in that video.
I cant think of anything more warlike than shooting down our helicopters.

If true, just a preview of what would be happening in numerous American cities if real teeth were put into any anti-illegal alien measures.

May be an urban legend, but I heard that in the early stages of Vietnam, the VC could bring down US copters with a slingshot. A rock in the intake was all it took on those 'jet' copters.

Since nobody seems to have been killed
Good, maybe somebody will recognize the threat now.
Or maybe somebody already has and is using the Maine/Gulf of Tonkin strategy

Tin foil time, but it could be that the powers that be won't want this story to get much pub.
Just a thought...

Not exactly the first time this has happened to one of CBP's birds. Happened a couple of months ago, too.
Yes, they often fly very very low to help out agents in distress and they are highly appreciated.

is it possible that you confused this withthe numerous stories about the recent Iraq chopper deaths?...

No. I am not confused. I watched it twice just to be sure I heard it right.

it's entirely possible that the news media agenda doesn't include reporting something like that.
For instance on 9-11-01 I was watching the breaking news in the morning and the newscasters were getting everything wrong, without a script they didn't even know who Dick Cheney was.

Since no one believes me, perhaps one of you could call ICE in the Southern Ca area and confirm the story...

Doubtful, since I've heard many accounts of crushed walnut shells being thrown into the intakes in a pinch to clear contaminants out of the compressor. Not THAT fragile...

nothing to see here people move along. GWB assures us that these are merely people with good family values looking to better themselves by doing the jobs that Americans don't want to do.

I wasn't being facetious, Jim. It's entirely possible that Fox and other news agencies don't want the story up front.
I wouldn't doubt it for a minute.
There really is little diference between Fox and CNN.

that link to me at least is kind of confusing , no dateline on the story , it says "Copyright 2005 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed. " at the bottom , only other date is todays date on the page , i am not questioning Jim's honesty or integraty , but did this happen a while ago or now ?? heck i guess it really doesnt matter in the scheme of things it shouldnt happen at all and i shure had not read about it before now
