Hot 'n' Heavy loads

What is the heaviest (high grain), load for 9mm? .22lr? 357mag? that you have used?
I'm beginning to buy into the logic that a heavier bullet is better than a faster one.
Thanks...

I tend to like heavy bullets as well, maybe not the explosive exapansion and performance exhibited by lightweights sometimes, but good reliable penetration nearly all the time :)
I use 147 grain in 9mm, same in 38 special and 230 in .45. Have played with 180's in 357 but don't really have a regular load with them.

I'll stick with lighter and faster, thanks all the same. Heavy and faster would be even better, but since I have to choose between heavy and fast, I'll go with fast.

The heaviest .357 is a 230 gr. over a dose of Blue Dot. The lightest for .357 is 65 gr. pill, which I have not really had a chance to play with.

In short, a 10mm High 'n' Hard.
But I like it that way.

hello can I play"
I'll call your sissy 10mm load and raise it to a .452 caliber 200gn XTP at 1400fps from the trusty .45 Super!
In 9mm I've used 150s but they're considerably slower than my favorite 115s@1500fps.

I got your 200 at 1400 and raise you a 250 gr. @ 1450 FPS out of a .45 Colt... :D

How about a 147 grain bullet on top of a 9X25 Dillon to ensure expansion?:neener:

The heaviest I use in my 357mag: 180gr@1250fps
The heaviest I've shot in my 357mag: 220gr@800fps.
The 180gr load is my "woods walking" load. The 220gr load was just to try the bullet, a 220gr wadcutter. Neat load, fairly accurate, but shoots 4" high at 25' with the rear sight all the way down.
The lightest I use in 38spec or 357mag is the 158gr SWC.
