It's just as sweet in real life as it is in pics.
Mine has a couple minor glitches.
First, prolly 2 out of 6 times you try to pull the hammer back, it just won't go back all the way.
I'm not shooting it like this.
Second, the included mounts (A big selling point for me.) are set up too close to use a red dot, at least the one I tried. (Pro-point PDP1).
I'll either have to find a red dot that will fit, modify the mounts to fit (About 1/8" shaved between the mounts should do it.), or do what it's set up to do, and put a scope on her. I really didn't want to make her fragile, that was not my intent.
The only bad thing is setting up a red dot, the included mounts are for a 1 inch tube.
What do you guys think?
I think these guns are set up to not lose their zero, so I could theoretically switch from iron sights to red dot to scope, and not have to sight it in every time.)
The only thing I would have to do is buy some more mounts.
I wonder if they make them in 30mm?

caz, congrats on the new hawg leg. Ruger will swap your 1-inch rings for stainless 30mm rings for no charge. Just call Customer Service and they'll pop your new rings in the mail. They don't even require you to send in your old rings first. They trust ya.

On my Hunter I've used a Millett dot sight and an Ultra Dot. The Millett lasted around 200 rds of heavy loads. Then it "spontaneously disassembled." After getting it replaced under warranty I put the Ultra Dot on and it's held up fine. The Millett is now on a .22lr Ruger MkII Slabside.

Don't know why your hammer won't cock. Is the base pin fully seated? That would cause that problem. Otherwise, try dry firing it a couple a hundred times, maybe the problem will go away.

Check out this TFL thread on the Poor Boy Trigger Job (http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80872). I used some of these tips on my latest SBH purchase (a stainless .44 Mag Bisley with adjustable sights!) and it helped improve the trigger pull 200%. -- Kernel
