Who manufactures the Cabelas Cap and Ball revolvers? Pieta? Uberti?
my plan is to purchase one soon and buy the Kirst Cartridge Conversion soon after. Just wondering if they are Uberti or Pieta. :)

pietta makes the .44's so i'd assume they make the .36's as well

after some reading, i have decied against a cartridge conversion. i am still going to purchase a BP revolver and just be happy with it the way it is....

a cartridge converter sound inviting but as far as i am concerned, i lose the romance of loading the primitive way. the cartridges still use blackpowder so i don't see much difference when it comes to cleaning.
i just recieved my .36 1851 navy yesterday:) . yes, it's alo made by pietta.

Beartracker,
thanks. i'm going this saturday to the range to shoot my old army the second time and my navy for the first time. my twin brother is not into guns and i'm inviting him to try out my hobby. i just wished that the range wasn't so far - 30 minutes away. the local indoor shooting range wouldn't let me shoot my bps. i wonder why:rolleyes: . can't take the smoke:cool:

Well, you can always do as I do....just step out on the back porch of your work shop as shoot all day if you want to. Of coarse you will have to live on top of a mountain and be 55 miles from the closest Mall or Wal Mart and run your house with a generator every time the power goes out and keep the Deer, Bear and turkeys out of your garden. Other than that it makes a nice place for shooting :D Mike

Mine tried the old "it's me or the guns" thing, ......missed her for about an hour.:what:
I'd owned some of those guns longer than I had known her.:neener:
