After debating buying many rifles {thanks for all the emails and such}. I thought a good thing to do would be to find out as much about the type of gun that I wanted, and build my own. so here is what im thinking

stock:CHOATE ULTIMATE SNIPER
gun: Savage 10FP(.223)

those are the things i've decided firmly, id like to throw a harris bipod on it. As for scope- I heard you can't go wrong with a Leupold. but I don't know enough about it.
if anyone has used any of the equipment, please tell me how it worked for you- as im about to plunge some money into this thing right here (less than $1000, I hope) anyhow suggestions are always welcome, thanks in advance,

-marc

I use Leupold exclusively for all my rifles. Of course I live only 2 hours away from the factory so I buy home grown. I have taken several old one's in and had them cleaned and recharged by the factory AT NO CHARGE. Remember they are AMERICAN MADE!!!

Isn't there a difference between "building" a rifle and just buying a rifle and adding accessories to it? :)

I will be going with a Savage 10FP-LE2A in 223..............adding a Bushnell Elite 4200 6x24-40 soon as the pennies are saved.:)

You may want to browse here awhile for lots of insights.....

Particulary on your choice of stock------the LE2A direct from Savage comes with the Choate Ultimate VARMINT Stock (differs from the Ult Sniper Stock a little)....read the reviews on both to see what fits your needs!

P.S.
NIB LE2A runs ~~$570 or so---add another $100 for base and rings ( debating Warnes vs TPS) and $400 for the scope and I'm good to go
