Well,

Which .308 rifle would you choose and why? Money is no object, just choose which one would be better for one purpose and only one purpose: putting the maximum number of rounds in the ten ring at 100 yards in an arbitrary time limit (let's say 1 minute). While we're at it, which type of scope and what mount?

i think you'll be happier with the ar-10t....you avoid the m1a's bedding/wandering/stringing problem.

for your stated purpose you might look at the knight armorment sr-25

I've never heard of the whole "bedding stringing" issues with the M1A, how common of a problem is it? The one thing that struck me as odd about the M1A being a "match" grade semi auto rifle was that, as far as I can tell, there is no way to free float the barrel, am I right? Wouldn't this be a huge disadvantage to an AR style rifle where free floating the barrel is easy?

On the bad side of things concerning the AR-10/SR-25, I've heard that there are serious reliability issues concerning mostly the magazines... any truth to this? Thanks for the help.
