It depends on what company made the revolver, or who may have imported it. However, the shoulder stock made for the more common 1851 Navy from the same maker will likely work. One likely source would be Dixie Gun Works in Union City, TN. but they'd need to know your revolver's maker.

Ned, The 61 is nothing more than an upgrade to the 51 and the stock should fit both of them. Mike

Thanks, Beartracker! Will the 1851 stock fit the 1861 Navy using the special screws on the 61 or does it have a different attachment method?

Not all stocks were created equal, as the backstraps on different makes, are well.... different. Also of late, some so-called 1861 Navy's are nothing but '60 Army's bored to .36 caliber. The real 1861 Navy replicas have 7 1/2"
barrels and 1851 Navy backstraps and trigger guards. Some though may have 1860 backstraps and trigger guards.
However once it is determined what you have getting a stock shouldn't be hard. Look on the top of the barrel for a clue as to who the importer was.
