Something that lefties need to hear

Lately, I have been hearing a lot about how "unethical" the Bush administration is from the many lefties I must deal with, and in the media. The term "unethical" seems to have been formed in a focus group somewhere. They often cite the campaign fundraising scandals, eavesdropping, etc.

My rebuttal of late, "I can remember eight years in the 90s when ethics didn't matter".

Leftie replies with either open mouth, or "When Clinton lied people didn't die". -My response, "Somolia".

Lefties need to hear this. They need to understand that if Klinton had been removed from power during his impeachment, Gore would have become President. An incumbant Gore would have most likey beat Bush. Gore could have been president today.

So ask the next lefty you see if they would have rather had Gore as President. When they say "yes", tell them they blew it by defending their corrupt, treasonous (for giving the Chinese missile tech in exchange for donations) little darling.

Cause and effect.

When did Somalia start again?

When did the Chinese technology exchange start again?

So when the other guy did it first, it's ok now for you to do it too? Glad to see that's how it works with ethics these days... :uhoh:

I think what he is trying to say is that we haven't had a decent, respectable president in quite some time. Bush is not the Anit-Christ that some (many) members of the left are trying to paint him as, any more than Clinton was a saint. Bush is merely the newest in line of reprehensible presidents. The problem is that both parties are controlled by deeply entrenched, morally bankrupt polliticians. Nothing is going to change even the tiniest bit until the public wakes up and starts voting in a new breed of politician.

P.S. Even that will only change so much.:banghead:

Could well be true.

Yup, that was what I intended to say.

Bush is not my idea of the ideal president, but those who took the issues with the Klinton administration seriously felt that we had no other choice but to put a Republican (and a Bush at that- I couldn't stand his father) in power. Now, when the Democrats complain about very real ethical issues with this administration, all I can say is "Please give us an alternative. A few years ago you were making excuses."

If the Democrats really did care about ethics they would have kicked Klinton out rather than defending him. Gore (of whom I have not heard anything unethical about) would most likely be in power. The Democrats uncompromising stance they took when they were in power led to the current situation.

LeftISTS

Not LeftIES

One of my brothers is a Left-y, to the point of if you tied his right arm behind his back, he probably wouldn't miss the use of it for about 10 days.:D :D He is about as conservative as it gets.

Fidel Castro is a Left-IST.

That situation didn't work out too well for Gerald Ford. Nixon resigned, Ford became president, and then was soundly beaten by a peanut farmer from Georgia.

If Clinton had been impeached, and Gore made president, I think Bush would have won by a larger margin that he did.

The only Democrat that I've voted for in the past 20 years was a fellow named John Ross...

Now, if they'd get away from trying to take away my toy boxes...

Please treat this venue as a polite discussion in a friend's home and respect the wishes of the hosts. We have noted that the civility of L&P has been plummeting of late. Correlated with this is yet another resurgence of political posts that do not meet the criteria as outlined in the rules of conduct. Just because a post is 'political' does not mean it belongs here. It must address firearms issues or civil liberties issues directly. "Civil liberties are in danger because Bush lied, people died!" and "we will lose all of our guns becuase Hillary has anger issues!" will not cut it. Post directly, not obliquely, about how a given topic has an impact on RKBA or civil liberties.

Thank you,
