I am confused by an ad on Gunsamerica:

http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976685837.htm

I did not think Springfield Armory, either the government arsenal or the company, manufactured M-1 Carbines.

What is the story with this?

Springfield Inc. Not the Govt. Springfield. They made receivers back in the
'80's, but IIRC, they never sold assembled Carbines, just the receiver. BTW, that auction price is WAY TOO high for a non USGI. I was going to build one to go with my M1A, but then I found a USGI Winchester import for less than parts would have cost me.

For that money you can buy a genuine WWII manufactured carbine.....

1000 bucks no thanks! You can find a real GI carbine for less.

I am not considering buying it, I just saw it and was curious.

That pricing and product is pretty consistent with Guns America :D
