I need something small. Something very compact and enexpensive. Autoloader, revovler, I'm open to anything that fits my criteria right now. My minimum caliber is .380 but I would like to go bigger if possible. What are some of your recommendations?

Another vote for the S&W 642-2. It is the perfect carry gun, especially with a Robert Mika pocket holster.

I'm thinking about the Kel-tec P11. It holds 10 +1 9mm, costs around $250-300 and I haven't heard a bad thing about them after they are broken in.

Hard to fault the 642 choice. I'm very partial to the KAHR pistols. They cost more than most small revolvers but they hide better than anything I know of in a serious caliber. The 9mm is only .90 wide ,with the .40 coming in at .94. Mine go everywhere I do.

glock 26, but if thats too big, one of the baby kahr's in 9mm would be a great pick.

While not advertised, Kel-Tec sells a 12-round magazine (formerly LEO) that is the same size as the standard 10-round magazine for the P-11. It has a diffrent follower and stronger spring permitting two extra rounds :)

Another vote for the 642-2,light enough to
carry,heavy enough to practice with.My

Taurus PT145 Millenium Pro. 10+1 .45 ACP, 23 ounces, 1"Wx5.25"Hx6"L. Mine was $283 out the door and has not hiccupped once in just over 400 rounds of various ammunition, including a box of +p 185 grain Cor-Bon. I normally carry a Witness Compact 10mm but it is fairly large and heavy, so on lighter clothing days I switch to the little Taurus. I will add that I have never been a fan of Taurus, but they really out-did themselves with this little critter.
They shoot really nice, BTW. Accurate, too.

1. Used (or new) S&W J-frame .38 or .357 magnum. 640, 642, 36, 37 for examples.
2. Makarov

+1. I carried one for years. It disappears in a IWB holster and packs 11 rounds of full power 9mm. All for around $250. You can't beat it.
