At last, posters on tshirts

Thanks to bastiat (flashbunny.org (http://flashbunny.org/)), three of my posters are now available on tshirts and other items (http://www.libertyoutlet.com/store/bystore.html?store=3). Proceeds go right back into a-human-right (http://www.a-human-right.com) in the form of equipment upgrades. The images available are:

http://www.a-human-right.com/peace_.jpg http://www.a-human-right.com/_colors3.jpg http://www.a-human-right.com/_quills.jpg

The quality of printing is much higher than Cafepress and other similar companied provide. More images will become available if the response to the first batch is favorable.

Let's take the message past just the web!

"Learn Their Tools!" -- when you requested that image back on TFL, I found the high-res scan and re-made the file. Never got around to uploading it -- will do so in the next week and will try to make it available on a shirt.

is there any particular process behind choosing which posters to put on shirts?

do you take suggestions?

or will it be too cost prohibitive to get all the good ones on shirts?

cause the 'molon labe' image that includes the analagy of the spartans would be great.

OK -- that one's next!

Criterea: do I have sufficient resolution? Is the design good?
It takes a couple of hours to get each image ready for printing the first time, so that's the limiting factor.

bastiat
April 16, 2003, 08:45 PM
Oooh, that one would really look cool on a mug. ;)

The biggest limitation is the resolution of available images. They get printed out at 300dpi so they need to be in that neighborhood, or be abled to be resampled to that resolution and still print well. For some of my shirts I had to go out and buy the rights to high-res photographs because the originals that worked well for the web didn't produce that great of a print.

Places like cafepress aren't really finnicky with the artwork - as long as it's within their size constraints they'll print it. Even though it's a little more work to get set up this way, the end result is worth it. The goal is to not just have someone say 'that looks cool' when they see it on the web, but also when they actually have the finished product in their hands.

But Oleg.. Females defending themselves with big black guns is not very PC!

What we need is a national televised debate:

Tamara and Runt on one side, Sarah Brady and H.R.Klinton on the other. Take a picture, and that would be a T-shirt I'd buy in truckloads!

I like most of the posters. Glad they are going to become wearable and mobile.

Question.. Oleg.. There was a poster I saw a long time ago, of a black man and a rifle.. I thought that was a good poster..

Okay... after the abortive attempt to get Oleg a birthday gift... how about we do the next best thing.

I would HOPE Oleg gets a percentage of the sales on these things... Yup yer gettin ahead of me here...

If you wana buy Oleg a gift, buy YOURSELF one of his T-Shirts, mugs or mousepads!

HAH!

Even if he does not get a kickback of any great size, I am sure it will do his artist's ego good to see his artwork get into so many hands... and it will better proclaim the cause for which he fights if you actually USE the items in question.

Now then what say ye?

I get a portion of the proceeds. It goes right to the digicam upgrade fund.

Second Amendment is not about hunting deer I'll need to re-make it at higher resolution first.

April 17, 2003, 02:49 PM
I'd like to see (not coincidentally probably my favorite 3 images/messages):
"You're on Your Own, Be Ready" (the "Please hold, your call will be answered" part would be very cool if it could wrap all the way around the shirt)
"Alive: Protect Yourself. Stop the predator. Reload. Dial 911."
"A Real Feminist Doesn't Rely on Men For Protection"

simon
April 17, 2003, 03:17 PM
"The redcoats are coming...." would be a great one too...

Here's a rather long list of ones I'd like to see on shirts.

The numbered ones are in descending order from 1 (favorite) on down to 15. The rest are one's I'd still like on shirts, but not as much as the numbered ones, though they are all awesome.

If I had to narrow it down, it'd be the top 5, hands down.

Oleg, I got chills again looking at your site. Each and every time I check it out, I find it extremely uplifting.

Glad to see you've updated it and added pictures!!! :D

ok, lets see if I can get these points across....

your average soccer mom won't get the Hitler/Stalin/PotPol Reference. effort waisted.

your average citizen believes "it won't happen here", RE: US Govt turning into a Totalatarian state. effort waisted

if your trying to make a social/political point. you have to make them stop and think.

"Why do gun controlers want my wife/GF/Daughter raped and killed?"

"if my child gets attacked by a vicious dog. will the police get there in time?"

"how many more women have to die when the restraining order is ignored and the Chief of Police said they don't need a gun?"

"Self Defence is a Basic Human Right"

"30,000 gun control laws brought us Columbine, Poduca and Portland."

we're talking marketing here boys and girls. getting the message out in a non thretening way. "Voting From the Roof Tops" makes us looks like what they say we are. "Molon Labe" makes us look like a bunch of paranoids (even though they ARE our to get us) Joe and Jane Q Citizen only know what they have been taught. Guns are bad. we need to show the other side. Victim Disarmament. Olegs exellent photo of the Black Man with the Bolt Action says it very well. Runt with a Big Bad Black Rifle looks cool, but scares the Soccer Mom.. Runt with a small auto or revolver sends a better message. "Gee! I could carry one of those!". keep the message simple, fast, and to the point. sheeple don't want to think. they want it handed to them on a plate. so lets do that. lets ask them questions they can answer.

try to see it from the average citizens point of view.

Oleg Volk

"if my child gets attacked by a vicious dog. will the police get there in time?"

While I was trying to figure out how to advise that joggers don't become fast food for cougars and bears, you phrased the sentiment for me. The only time I've had to draw was on a pack of dogs, and they are a more common hazard than bears

Will have a poster done soon -- need a photo of a vicious dog. Anyone got usable images?

Kcustom45 has a German shepherd mix that can act pretty vicious, but I'm not sure my camera can deliver high enough resolution. I'm still back in the 1.2 megapixel range. If you're interested, I can try to take a few pictures for you.
I'd kill to get this on a t-shirt.
I trust that won't be necessary.

I ordered one, and if you can get the poster CGofMP suggested on a T-shirt ("Human beings understand reason, compassion, dignity. Predators understand strength.") I'll place another order. And probably a few dozen others as you get more on there.

It's really hard to see the images on the t-shirts, etc., there. If/when you get to it, it would be very helpful to be able to click on an item to enlarge it.

bastiat
April 28, 2003, 10:40 PM
When you click on the link to the item detail there is a larger image.

Essentially everything except the mugs is just a mockup of the actual design on a flat surface, so you just need to imagine the image plastered on a shirt or mousepad.

Dude I wish y'all had done this over a year ago. I would have bought some and used them in a speech I gave in class about how we should support the 2nd ammendment (since I knew most of them thought what they had been taught-"guns are bad")

I definitely like the "Molon Lave" shirt and plan on getting it, but I gotta pay my school bill first. Next time my dad and I go to the range I might have him take some pics that I might be able to do something cool with. :-D

About the soccer moms- I think they are mostly clueless (I babysit for many of them and they have no idea what's out there) They think guns are bad and rely on their security systems to protect their homes and children. Maybe something could be made that applies to them. Something along the lines of
"how long will it take for them to get to your house?" "What do you do till then?" "is this your only protection? A siren loud noise and the treat of cops on their way?" I don't really know what would be best I'm just thinking off the top of my head.

Ok well I think I might ask good ol' daddy to buy me one of these shirts or maybe I should get him one since his b-day is closer then mine.

Referring to the waiting list for new designs, and speaking as someone who also has an online store for shirt and hat designs, the better things sell, the more I'm encouraged to make other shirt, hat, or mug designs that people might like.

If you spend several hours perfecting a design and no one buys it, it can make you feel like you've wasted your time. But if the same design sells, you get the 'buzz' of knowing that people actually like the design as well and will be wearing it and offending some anti-gunner with it in some distant part of the country or somewhere else in the world. That gives me a warm fuzzy feeling :D

You have to place an order first. If you select that you're paying by check it will give you a mailing address along with the total that includes the shipping charges. Plus it sends a copy of your receipt via email, too, with the shipping total and a corresponding order number.

So, how much is shipping? How does one determine that?

bastiat
May 31, 2003, 04:24 PM
You do need to go through the online store. It will give you shipping. It's not set up for people to just send in orders on their own without a corresponding order in the system. The store tracks everything about the order, and that's how commission is tracked, too. Everything is set up to be as automated as possible, to keep unnecessary human work to a minimum so commission can be kept at the maximum.

And if you can handle posting on a web forum, you can handle the shopping cart.

Well, Jeff Skodinski at APSG, LLC sent me my check back today. "All orders for libertyoutlet.com must go through the web site." What if I don't want to? What if my eyes cross at the mere sight of all that hacker junk. Unbelievable

I am astounded. I beg to send people money and they refuse to take it. No one, not a single person wants to make any money in the gun industry.

I will not suffer any more fools whining about the "bad economy." And I will not have that cool "Learn their tools" mousepad either. Oh, well, save it for Tejas.
