going down to pullman (I live in seattle/tacoma) and I'll be taking a Greyhound bus b/c i'm bringing back a car..
can you carry on a greyhound bus?
i quickly looked over their website to make sure they don't use metal detectors at their central station or whatever it is because that would make me go back home to drop my CCW.. but i haven't found anything
also.. i'm not crossing any state border lines.. i'm aware that certain states wouldn't recognize other state CPL's.
has anyone used greyhound or anything? is it "ok" to carry on a greyhound.. because right now i'm just going to assume if they don't have a metal detector or a big huge sign that says firearms NOT allowed.. then i'll be carrying.

It's not OK.
Back in the day (pre-911) you could get away with it. Nowadays they do random searches of baggage. I'm not sure about metal detectors or pat-downs, but I wouldn't risk it. It could lead to a felony conviction.
The bus sucks. I would do anything, hitchhike even, before I would set foot on another one of those godawful asylums on wheels. :barf:

Search is your friend. This was discussed here a few days ago.
I believe the answer is that even carrying in your luggage is prohibited on Greyhound, but find the thread and review it yourself because I don't trust my memory.

Check their regulations about searching luggage, they may not have the authority to search w/o a warrant. then get yourself an non-descript locking container and carry you gun in your luggage. If they do decide to search you (not very likely) I think you have the right to refuse unless they have a warrant.
P.S. They might kick you off the bus, but Seattle to Pullman is not very far and you shouldn't have any problems after you get on the buss.
P.P.S If they do kick you off somewhere on the East side of the state, give me a PM, I'll give you a lift.

As long as you don't touch up the paint (Go Huskies) on the silo across the street from the bus station on Grand Ave you should be alright in Pullman :neener:

he one and ONLY time i rode the "Big Grey Dog", they made me remove and stow the 1.5" bladed Kershaw "Ken Onion" Chive pocket knife, because the exposed pocket clip was gonna scare the sheeple...
they did NOT make me remove the leatherman, or the big Kershaw Ken Onion "blackout" from my belt (he didn't see them...
the second time i was supposed to ride a bus, i instead rented a small u-haul truck, one way, to the place i needed to go...

I've been on greyhound a few times in years past. Before 9/11 though. I carried a knife and a J-frame SW without trouble. These days however, I'd really look into renting a car and driving myself, that way I'm free to do as I please.

Go to the bus station a day early and study their procedures.

According to the Greyhound website, neither guns nor ammunition are permitted on their bus - checked or carryon. No can do.

They may search your baggage prior to boarding. Refusal can result in your not boarding the bus.

Ship the handgun to yourself (don't use the postal service!) c/o someone on the other end, then pick it up from them when you get there.
