Who makes the best Weaver-type scope base for a Super Redhawk? (I'm going to mount a red-dot.)

For me - the ones that come with the gun!!!!

They take 1" and I find my Millet works great - same on the .454 version.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a rail-type to fit the flat bottom of a Bushnell Holosight.

Pretty picture BTW; what kind of grips are those?

Oh OK Doug - sorry if I seemed a bit smarta** ;) Had not realized what you were considering. Thought maybe you'd been cheated out of std rings!!

I have a Holosight on my BFR and can see what you are after - gotcha! Not sure what might be out there for that actually - I wonder even if a call to Ruger could help. You need a sorta weaver rail which can secure to the ring points on frame. Good luck with that - must be something somewhere.

The grips on that SRH of mine are Hogues.

Jack Weigand (http://www.jackweigand.com/) makes some excellent and strong scope mounts specifically for the SRH. If they are high quality like his other mounts, and I believe they are, I highly recommend them.

Like Chris, I use the standard Ruger mounts that came with the revolver, but they won't work with a Holosight as you already know.

The Weigand SRH454 is the strongest mount for the SRH. If you are using a 1" scope, I would also suggest the Burris Signature ZEE rings. They have an internal self centering nylon bushing that has tremendous gripping power, but will not marr the scope, or put side stress on it.
