Okay, I didn't exactly get the killer deal of the century. But, with the trade of my ill-advised Remington 11-87, I was able to knock the price of a brand new Colt Series 70 New Roll Mark model to $701.00. Bear in mind that prices are high in my area, and always have been, and the Colts can be difficult to acquire. In any case, it'll do nothing but go up in value.

As an aside, Lordy I wish Colt would get their act together and start marketing again. My Series 80 Government Model is top notch; Cost only about a hundred bucks more than the Springfield Mil-Spec that was next to it, and fit and finish are superior. They wouldn't be able to keep the things on the shelves if they'd just ADVERTISE and DISTRIBUTE...

Doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. I don't have the retail list price in front of me, but I think that gun (blued) retails around $900....$985, maybe. I know a dealer in NC that had one for $669, but with thier handgun permit fees and 7% taxes, it would be a bit more. My XSE LW Commander would have been $755 through them, but after taxes, shipping, and FFL fees, I got a local dealer to sell me one for $790. That particular model retails at $1100. Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy the gun!
