Where is the best place to buy parts for building an AR? I'm thinking collapsable stock, 16-inch barrel, flat top, medium-length gas tube, low front post. I don't mind spending a few bucks to build a quality gun, but I would like to get the parts as cheaply as possible.

Thanks.

Check out gunsamerica.

Lots of RRA complete lowers NIB for $250 or so.

Then find the upper you are looking for.

I've built kits from several different makers. The last kits were from J&Tdistributing.com and they whet together without hand fitting of parts.

Check out the industry forum over at ar15.com...there will be a huge list of vendors who sell virtually everything imaginable for the AR-15.

As for JT, it is the general consensus they are the highest quality of the budget kit builds.

If you want some nice parts at a good price, the Equipment Exchange on AR15.com isn't a bad deal. There are lots of high dollar used parts being sold at a discount because the owners are moving on to the latest trendy parts.

Of all of the online AR parts houses with whom I've done business (e.g. DelTon (http://www.del-ton.com/), Adco (http://www.adcofirearms.com/), RB Precision (http://www.rbprecision.com/), Al's Custom (http://www.alscustom.com/), J&T (http://www.jtdistributing.com/), Bravo Co USA (http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/), JP (http://www.jprifles.com/), Quantico (http://www.quanticoarms.com/index.asp), Sarco (http://www.sarcoinc.com/m16.html), Fulton (http://www.fulton-armory.com/M6Parts.htm), Model 1 Sales (http://www.model1sales.com)), I've probably spent more money with DSG (http://dsgarms.com) and Eagle Firearms (http://www.eaglefirearms.net) than anyone else. DSG and Eagle tend to have the best prices on their respective product lines, and their shipping/service has been exemplary.
