What's the deal? I am used to not being charged sales tax on orders that are from a different state. Wolff just charged me sales tax. What's the deal? Are we supposed to be paying it?

Are you talking about the federal excise tax that you pay for the hunters or a state sales tax???

I assume you're talking about mail order from Wolff Gun Springs?

No, it's that agreement between Visa, Mastercard, & Amex on one side, and a bunch of states on the other, to collect sales tax on web purchases. It's not just gun related stuff.

I've never heard of buying ammo directly from Wolf...

Depends on your state of residence, too.

Ohio now has a place on the state tax form for you to report out-of-state sales, and pay the appropriate tax. Internet, TV shopping channel, etc. Even if you go out of state personally and buy stuff...

If you go out of state and buy it, you've already paid that state's sale tax....
