Questions for Marlin .357 lever owners

I've been thinking that one of these would make a great fun gun. My questions:
1.) How well will they feed .38 Special?
2.) How accurate are they within their respective range, which is?
I've thought back and forth from .44Mag to .30-30 back to .44 and finally thought I ought to get one with a revolver I have and am very accurate with, so.....I thought, hey, what about a .357? Ought to be cheaper to shoot than .44 since I don't reload. And the .38 ought to be cheaper still. Your thoughts?

I have had no problem with .38 spc and my accuracy in 2-3 in at a 100 yrds. Of course mine is a tuned wild west guns copilot with a scout scope.

I had one for years, gave it to a friend, and want another one! Good accuracy, excellent ballistics (try the Winchester 145gr. Silvertip JHP for a good balance between velocity and expansion - the hot 125gr. loads go so fast out of the longer barrel that they sometimes blow up on impact, and don't penetrate deeply enough in a defensive situation). .38 Specials also feed just fine.

I second the endorsements - my Marlin 1894CS feeds .38Spl just fine, and it shoots like it has eyes out to 100yds. Somehow, I never got around to shooting groups on paper at distance - it was WAAAAAYYY funner to roll soda cans and blow up rocks/dirt clods on the berm, instead.
I highly recommend installing the Ashley Outdoors/Xpress Sight Systems ghost-ring rear sight - it really helps bring out the practical accuracy potential inherent in these little carbines.

38spcl feeds without any problems in my 1894CP and AO ghost ring sights make it very accurate (AO ghost ring sights also increase the sight radius by a few inches as well).

I've never had problems feeding .38 Special in my .357 magnum Marlin or .44 Specials in my .44 magnum Marlin. Recoil is non-existent with .38 Specials and pleasant with .357 magnum. I prefer the flatter shooting .357 magnums but .38 Special ammo is almost free.:D
