The Iraqi people don't trust us. Why?
There may be many reasons, but #1 might be, they believe we are there to conquer, not liberate. It doesn't help when the stupid :cuss: ing news reporters [and I use that term lightly] call what we're doing conquering. :banghead:
Thank you CBS 2 News Los Angeles. :fire:

I see you are reacting to the report most likely from a national correspondent aired on a national affiliate in a local market such as LA.
Sorta predictable what the story's angle would be.
Try looking at FOX or any of the many internet sources of information. CBS's spin on the situation is decidely in the minority.
BTW, haven't looked at news from ABC, CBS, and NBC for years now. I find their approach to reportage to be stale and irrelevant.
We no longer have gatekeepers on the news.

what waitone said! Only time I bother looking at any of the left of center "mainstream" media is if there's a link posted on one of the conservative news sites, or FREEP, or here on THR. Otherwise, why waste the bandwidth?

It's not so much that I can't deal with it. I know these people are just sycophants and blatherskites:rolleyes:
What bothers me is, it looks like the vast majority of the viewing public are buying their load of :cuss: .

There are indeed many reasons the Iraqis don't trust us, but I am highly doubtful that CBS 2 News in Los Angeles is one of them. Just how many people in Iraq so you think see local news in LA?
Much likelier reasons: 25 years of indoctrination of an uneducated and backward population by a totalitarian government, coupled with the fact that the last time we were over there liberating, we abandoned and left in the lurch all those with enough guts to rise up against Saddam.

[grammar lesson]
VERY IMPORTANT for credibility...
Medium is singular
Media is plural.
When you say media you're talking about more than one thing.
It should be " The media just don't get it"
or (rare) "the medium doesn't get it".
'Media' is plural!
