Anyone know what the recommended starting charge is for IMR 4350 and the Hornady 87-grain spitzers in .243? I can't find anything in my load manuals.
Thanks in advance.

dodge February 12, 2006, 02:40 PM Out of the Lyman 47th edition for a 85 gr sptizer it shows a starting load of 38 gr of IMR 4350 (velocity of 2844) and a max load of 44 gs. (velocity of 3283). Hope this will help you. Matthew T. February 12, 2006, 09:29 PM Yes, I have the Lyman 47th edition and the Lee Second Edition, but they give Hornady's odd weight bullets short shrift. dodge February 13, 2006, 11:15 AM This should give you a starting point as I believe that 2 grains of bullet weight won't make that much difference.
