How does Rock River Arms compare to other AR-15 manufacturers?

One of the best, period. On par with Bushmaster, Colt and Armalite. Do a search here and at www.ar15.com , I doubt you'll find many negatives.

Excellent.

Just try and find one with chrome lined chamber and bore. They're out there.

Can you tell from this photo if this AR-15 has a chrome lined chamer and bore?

I would "GUESS" no . . . .looks to me like it's a stainless barrel and those aren't chrome lined. Purely a guess based on looking ahead of the handguard.

Looks like a stainless bull barrel, but it's hard to say.

Excellent weapons. You would not be wasting your money.

I run Rock River in gun skul for the past 3 years. Have not had a malfunction incident yet.:)

I love my RRA M4gery. I'd be surprised if any of my future AR purchases were anything but RRA.

That is a stainless bull barrel with stainless barrel extension. A chromed barrel and chamber would usually have a dull gray ring around the mouth of the chamber. The lugs and remaining parts would be phosphated.

The fact that your lugs are shiny, as well as the entire chamber/extension area and the barrel itself, strongly suggest this is a stainless match barrel. It is likely a very accurate rifle; but will sacrifice a little in the way of reliability in order to get that high degree of accuracy. I wouldn't worry about the lack of chrome-lining though, it is likely still plenty reliable.

What all have said...

RRA ARs are good guns. Right now, I rate them at the top of the heap...

What I'm waiting for are the LAR-10s in 7.62mm NATO...

Yep, got a RRA NM. Never had a problem with it. Thousands of rounds of reloads fired.
