Ok, I don't want to put a scope on my 1894 because I like the way it looks. Kinda old school. I was wondering what some good sights to out on one are. I want to get a ghost ring sight system, but I've never put different sights on a gun and I'm not sure what to buy. This gun will be used for close range deer sized game.

XS Sight Systems (http://www.xssights.com/store/rifle.html) has ghost rings for several Win 94 models you might be interested in looking at.

I love the XS sight on my 94. Get the threaded ring, if you can, so you can install a Williams peep into the aperture for precision shooting.

I appreciate the wings on the Wild West sight, but it makes it look a bit clunky.

That's what I have on mine. When you get it, just remove the small hole insert and use the large hole as a ghost ring sight. http://www.lymanproducts.com/lymanproducts/sights.htm

Just to be different, I have the WWG ghost ring. I liked it over the ashley because it had wings to protect the aperture. At the THR get together last month, I had the chance to shoot another member's tricked out levergun, which had sights by David Clay, IIRC. Those were slick, too.

i have these from TruGlo on mine. they're nice but not very rugged. they probably wouldn't hold up well on a brush gun that really sees a lot of brush being made mostly of plastic but they're great for a casual use gun.
