I have decided my one and only bolt action Whitetail deer rifle will be a Remington chambered for .270. I

am now trying to decide which model I want. I have narrowed it down to the CDL and the LSS. I like the

walnut and blued finish "look" of the CDL, but the stock design and all weather properties of the LSS are

also nice. I also like the raised Monte Carlo cheeckpiece on the LSS. Right now I am leaning more

towards the LSS but wanted some other opinions. Let me know which you prefer and why!

Both are excellent choices, though I prefer the classic look of the CDL. However, if I were expecting to use the gun in severe weather I might be tempted to go with the LSS which looks pretty dang cool in its own right.

You have chosen the caliber (good choice BTW) and action (great choice BTW), so the hard part is over. Both guns will be great for whatever you use them for, the only questions now are which speaks to you, and which one can you get the best deal on?

i have both. both are fine rifles, but they aren't really suited for a direct comparison.

the cdl is a very classy looking design, done up in the classic style. the lss features stainless construction, and a laminated stock - more what people think of when they think of varminters.

fwiw, if you are only going to get one, might as well get the cdl and have the classic look, and lighter weight (weight sucks on a hunting rifle).

I voted CDL because I like blued steel, walnut, and combless stocks... qualities that the LSS has none of.
