I just added a 1911 to my collection. I got a Springfield Armory Champion. I'll be out at the range tomorrow to shoot. I am very excited. I also bought a nice Ross IWB leather holster, so this could become a carry gun for me.

I have two and they're really, really accurate. The only complaint I had what that when I first purchased them, the action felt crusty. After about 300 rounds it's like butter. You'll see what I mean.
Enjoy! Excellent choice!

I'm rather fond of the way a 1911 fits my mitts and have no trouble with the Springer I own. Hope you enjoy yours as much.

LJ, I just found out that the SA Champions are defective. For safetys sake you should send it to me for proper disposal, and just to be thorough, you should send me the holster and any ammo that you have. Just to be sure.:D

Ok, here are some pics. You'll see I'm as bad a photographer as I am a shooter, but no big deal. I couldn't get on teh 25 yard range today, so these are just at 7 yards and 15 yards. I wanted to compare the .45 to my .38 and my 9mm. Let me know what you think.
Edit: I messed up on the pics, so I have to redo the 9mm at 7yds.
The pics are in this order: 38 @ 7yds, 45 @ 7 yds, 9mm @ 15 yds, 45 @ 15 yds.
This is the first time I've shot the 45. I was very pleased.

Thats a sweet little 45 you have there.
How did it run? Hope it ran smooth for you.
If you are like me the other pistols in your armory will get neglected as you fall under the spell of the single action perfection that is the 1911:D
