I recently finished Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater again, and there's something that confuses me.
When you first rescue Sokolov, you run into Major Ocelot, who kills the Russian guards with a 9mm Makarov. He shows off with some Middle East technique he's never tried before, and consequently his gun jams.
Later, not only has he changed to a Single Action Army revolver in .45 (on Snake's advice), but he wears the "jammed" bullet as a pendant.
At two points in the game (Prison break and final showdown), he pulls the bullet of the chain and loads it into the S.A.A.
Is this even possible?

Thank you WarMachine, that made me laugh out loud and almost snort beer through my nose.

IIRC, there was a limited run of 9mm SAA's made.
As for firing 9mm in a .45LC chamber - I don't see that one happening.

Uh its a game...... I like my games and all but I really don't try to analize how my MP5 and MP7 have gernade launchers on them in Half Life and Half Life 2, and how I can carry enogh wephons to outfit a small army all by myself in almost every other game.

Alrighty, let the guy who runs the largest game-gun site on the net that I know of answer this one.
Aside from that no one on the production team aside from Mr. Mori has any practical experience with weapon, Ocelot has wrapped tape around the round to make in fit better in the chamber. Presumeably the 9X18mm Makarov is a cartidge of such small pressure that most of the bullet being unsupported has little affect
Personnaly I don't think Mr. Kojima knows what happens to an unsupported cartridge, if you've seen Col. Volgin in action you'll understand why.
To those that haven't played MGS3 and have no intention of doing so; Volgin holds a rifle cartridge from one of the ammo belts draped across his body in his hand, and fires it with an electric field, and somehow instead of taking his hand off it fires with a great degree of accuracy.
Now if this seems far-fetched remember this was made in the country that gave us oral-charging of .454 casul automatics.

It's called the Israli draw, the guns is kept in condtion 3 and when ready to fire, The gun is drawn and the slide racked with the off-hand before firing.
