Military Surplus Binoculars- Good Deal?

I've recently seen several ads for military surplus binoculars and the prices seemed reasonable. And hey, if they are mil surp they are probably tough enough for me.

I think it is time to retire my Sears 7x35s!

Can anyone make recommendations for a good pair of binoculars without breaking the bank (i.e. sub 300)???

I'd like 8x or 10x.

Only glanced at the article, but Mike Miller (owner of Tactical Intervention (http://www.tacticalintervention.com) , maker of world class tactical rifle slings) wrote a little bit on some of the latest Russian binos (http://www.snipershide.com/optics/russian_bino.html) .
