A buddy of mine has an AR-180, and is looking for optic mounting options. Is he going to have to use the one from Armalite, or are there aftermarket versions that are better / more cost efficient?
Thanks!
Michael

Sorry - your buddy's gotta use the Armalite proprietary scope mount($125, order directly from www.armalite.com), or take the gun to a gunsmith and have him drill/tap the receiver top for a Weaver base or Picatinny rail.

$125 for a scope mount? Might be cheaper to get the thing drilled and tapped. Would probably give you more scope options, too, if you had a Weaver rail mounted on there.

B-Square makes a great Weaver rail mount for the AR-180B. A set of 1" rings is included but any Weaver compatible system can be used. I have a C-More mounted on my 180B with this mount and am very happy with it.
The B-Square rail uses a spring loaded plunger to lock the unit onto the 180's scope mount. This makes for easy (no tools) on and off with no loss of zero.
Got mine from www.hitach.com for less then what B-Square list them for at their web site.
